Project Manager
APPLY NOW(FULL-TIME) S&S WELDING, INC., one of the fastest-growing, privately owned Structural Steel Companies in the Southeast, is looking to add an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to its team. The well-qualified candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced, well-organized, and possess the ability to meet deadlines under firm schedules.
We are looking for a goal-driven individual with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and understand the building steps within complex projects. This position requires interfacing with architects, engineers, the sales team, detailers, and suppliers. Therefore, it is imperative that the applicant has exceptional listening and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the project from commencement through completion
- Attend job turnover meetings, including reviewing proposals, contracts, and bid documents
- Understand construction documents, specifications, and the “take-offs” of all materials and the labor performance process
- Constantly monitor contract changes, their cost, and time impact
- Generate SOVs, RFIs, change order requests, and help determine pricing
- Obtain signed change orders for all requested extra work
- Review shop drawings with the detailer prior to submittal
- Manage all subs and vendors
- Coordinate field schedules with the general contractor and shop
- Monitor field deliveries. buyout items, and field erection
- Oversee all jobsite equipment (e.g., cranes, lifts, )
- Attend project meetings and supervise project progress regularly
- Communicate via phone/email on all submittals, lead times, and deliveries with vendors
- Journal daily, track documents, change orders, and respond to calls/emails/requests appropriately and timely
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficient in interpreting/reading architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents in Division 5
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Computer Literacy, (e.g, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, FabSuite, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure and stringent deadlines
- Possess a good work ethic, be a strong team member, and maintain a positive attitude
- Skillful in prioritizing workload, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong organization skills
- Capable of navigating and concluding arithmetic calculations
- General knowledge of steel fabrication and erection
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of project management experience in structural/miscellaneous steel
- or Five (5) years of project management experience in structural/miscellaneous steel
